In 1851, a book titled “Asiatic Costumes from Drawings taken during a Residence in India” was published by Stevens and Co., printers, London.
Although there is no author mentioned or no other texts accompanies the book, the name R. Ackermann, London, 1828 is seen below each drawings. Mostly the author toured the northern part of India since the costumes resemble of the Kathak style, rather than the South Indian Style.
The book has a variety of drawings, but I have selected the ones that are related to dance and music. One can access the entire book from Internet archives.
