NYU Nasha’s 7th Annual Benefit Dance Showcase, Jan 29,2011

” NASHA, is an all-female South Asian fusion troupe based in New York University. NASHA combines a variety of Eastern and Western dance styles, including but not limited to bharatanatyam, kathak, ballet, and modern, to create its unique fusion dance form.

We are having our 7th Annual Benefit Dance Showcase on Saturday, January 29, 2011. There will be a reception prior to the show at 6:30 pm and the show will begin at 7:30 pm. This year the proceeds of our show will benefit Art Start, a charity that uses art to help build self-esteem and foster self-expression among children on the streets, in shelters, and dealing with parents in crises. As dancers, we are eager to utilize movement to support this noble cause.

Every year, we generally draw an audience of 400-500 people from the tri-state area and Nasha is always looking to reach out to new audiences and increase awareness of the South Asian dance form.”
