About the Choreographer:
Mrs. Meenakshi Priya Raghavan is a disciple of Guru Kalaimamani Mrs. Chandra Dhandayuthapani Pillai. For over two decades, Mrs. Meenaksh Priya Raghavan, a student of the Tamil Nadu Government Music College, has been devoting her time and energy for the divine art of Bharatanatyam. She has a number of awards to her credit. `Bala Saraswathi’, `Natya Kala Vipanchee’ and `Natya Sudorli ‘ were among the titles she had own.
Vinayaga Natyalaya is born out of the desire of its founder Mrs. Meenakshi Priya Raghavan to take Bharathanatyam to rural India. With this objective, this institution has started teaching this great art form to village students in and around Chengalpattu. Over 300 students are part of this organization now.

IDA DANCE FEST AT CHENNAI
This year the IDA is celebrating its 23rd anniversary on July 24 and 25 at the Naradha Gana Sabha, in association with the Sabha.
Twelve dance groups, six on each day are performing each day. The programme is themed “Vande Guru Parampara”. Two gurus – Adyar K. Lakshman and Ranganayaki Jayaraman will be honoured on July 24. Nalli N. Kuppuswamy Chetty, a patron of the arts will preside and A. R. Natarajan will be the guest of honour.
The participating dance groups are led by Uma Muralikrishna, Rajeswari Sainath, Urmila Satyanarayana, Lavanya Sankar, Ramya Ramnarayan, Binesh Mahadevan, Padma Murali, Hari and Chetna, Prakriti Bhaskar, Kavitha Ramu, Pramila Ramesh and Parvati Ravi Ghantasala.
Admit cards available at auditorium from July 18 onwards, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
